The first flag here is my take on a potential flag for the Union of Britain if ruled by the Maximists led by Oswald Mosley. to be honest, most of the above designs (more specifically, all the African ones) were prompted by my recent alterations to my alt-history world map, which you can see in the spoiler in the quote below.

A novel little thing about this flag's design: the Arabic words on the bottom strip are upside-down, meaning that no matter which way the flag is hung, at least one of the two 'Allah' stripes are right-side-up at all times the same thing goes for the Moon: both the Star and Crescent are mirrored on the same axis, so that when flipped upside-down, it'll just look like if the flag's blowing in the wind in the opposite direction.Д«y the way. Speaking of that, though, the flag's symbolism is straightforward to understand, with the standard Islamic symbols of the Star & Crescent Moon, the color green, and the word 'Allah' in Arabic (which I just copied from the Iranian flag and used to make the unique stripe-like pattern). Hell, I didn't know they already had their own flag until I actually went and looked them up!ДЄbout the only thing I happened to get right was the fact that their religion happened to be Islam, which was just a lucky guess on my part. This flag was my attempt at a Tuareg Confederation flag, which, again, I had no idea was even a thing until after playing Kaiserreich and researching a bit about it. the British never got to sit in the stool. Needless to say, the British won in the end and conquered the kingdom, but the Ashanti got the last laugh. the British, unfortunately, didn't take no for an answer, and this ended up spiraling into what is now known as the War for the Golden Stool. The Ashanti people didn't take too kindly to that, given it was a sacred object exclusive only to their kings, so they refused. you see, back in 1900 when the British controlled the Gold Coast, the British governor of the colony visited the Ashanti Kingdom at some point and, in what we would call today as something of a social faux pas, demanded to sit on the Golden Stool. The gold-colored object in the center is supposed to be the Golden Stool, an Ashanti cultural artifact that has a pretty funny story behind it, which I'll get into in a bit anyways, I improvised the stool by just knocking together two MjГ¶lnir overlays side-by-side to create the image of an arch.ДЄs for the story behind the Golden Stool: it's actually kinda pretty funny. This flag is a rough approximation of the former Ashanti Kingdom, which used to rule what is now Ghana, Togo, and Benin in West Africa, before the British invaded and colonized it. The yellow symbols on red design is only considered to be prototypically Communist, because the most important Communist states ever (China and the Soviet Union) had them, as does Vietnam. North Korea does incorporate the star symbolism and red, but its star is white and the red is joined by blue stripes, to just mention a few other examples.

Of non-European Soviet-aligned states, Cuba, Ethiopia, Somalia, and Laos also kept the flag, Benin had a red star on green background, South Yemen combined elements from the flag of the Federation of South Arabia with the Arab Liberation Flag, Afghanistan, except for a short time, went with a horizontal tricolor of the previous flag's colours, Mongolia has a vertical tricolor redвЂ“blueвЂ“red with a yellow Soyombo symbol. Except for the Soviet Union, the other Pact members either kept their countries previous flag unchanged or at most defaced with the new coat of arms (East Germany, Bulgaria, Romania) or a small yellow start (Albania). Among the Warsaw Pact countries, the only ones who had a red flag were the Soviet Union and Albania, but in the latter case the flag had been red from the beginning. Most socialist states didn't have a red flag as their national flag.
